My client Mary inherited her mother’s life genealogical work. Her mom had started to create a book when she passed away, leaving it unfinished. Mary took it on with interest and fervour. Her big challenge was to get familiar with her mom’s work to continue it. She did a fantastic job, although the line charts needed updating and that was daunting. She really wanted to include the family branches in the research and show they were connected. Every page was designed go into the back of a Cerlox bound book. I created seven small family charts with a summary all to chart of how they fit together. The crowning glory was a pull-out chart measuring 31” by 11” of eleven generations of descendants – totally 420 relatives. Some relatives also got custom immigration icons & notes to cross reference them to the smaller charts. That big chart was a huge challenge and I was very happy once I was able to make it fit, with no names appearing on folds. I also provided proofing, a little research and print management. The final presentation of her mother’s story all printed and bound with the charts looked terrific—something for Mary to be very proud of finishing.
