I met Judy Piercey (Novelist, Journalist and former CBC producer) through family research and her husband, a fourth cousin I discovered while researching Brodie descendants. The Washstand’s Journey is a beautiful story of family, as told by through the perspective of a washstand (part of a bedroom suite), purchased for a daughter at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.
Judy writes of individual family members, their history and of the times they experienced. I assisted with editing and the design and layout of the book. I was also able to contribute with genealogical information and supporting images. Her husband, Ian shot the cover photo.
